Instead, this article is going to show you the steps I took to find fairly quick success as a freelance writer, and I'm certain that, if you take the advice given below, you will have a good idea of how you can start earning some money by freelance writing on the internet.
It was about six months when I decided that I needed a change of scenery. I made the decision right then and there that, for the rest of my life, I would only work on the terms that I made for myself. The important thing was that I meant it. Now I'm not against the nine to five lifestyle and, in fact, I think that the people who live that way are the most important asset of this country. However, that lifestyle wasn't working for me and I needed a change. I thrive when I have some freedom and I knew that I couldn't work well if someone was constantly looking over my shoulder. So, I came to the conclusion that, even though I didn't know where to start making money as a writing, I would do anything it took to make it become a reality.
I didn't have a degree in writing and I had very little experience with the way things worked. But, it didn't matter. I knew I'd have to start out writing cheap-paying articles and that if I produced quality work, I could come across better paying opportunities. The amount I was going to get paid and how long I spent writing didn't matter to me... I was, without-a-doubt, confident that I had the ability to get to where it was that I wanted to go. It didn't matter what happened, I was going to find a way to make freelance writing work for me. And this attitude I had was probably the best thing I had going for me early in my career. You have to have faith. You have to realize that you are going to find success in your undertaking and you HAVE to be prepared to hurdle the obstacles that get in your way. For the first time in my life, I knew what it was going to take to become successful...
When I first started, I was writing nearly 14 hours a day and I was only earning about $3 for ever 500 word article I wrote. As I look back now, I know that I was working more than necessary for so little money, but, at during that time period, I was unaware of how little I was being paid. It was so awesome to me that I was actually getting paid to write! The positive attitude I possessed made me look pass the little income I was earning. Having a positive attitude and being enthusiastic is a vital component to being successful in any line of work you find yourself in. The bottom line is, you will never find a job where every task you do is completely satisfying. However, by having a positive attitude and enjoying your work, you can get past those inconveniences that come your way.
So, as my enthusiasm and faith to make it as a successful freelance writer carried me, I began looking for better opportunities. About a month into my new 'career' I stumbled upon a site that was just starting up. I figured, "Hey, these guys are just getting started. Maybe I'll get lucky and they'll turn into something big." At first, there was no work available on this site. In the first month that I was a member of the site, I had written one article on a subject I knew NOTHING about, and made $11.50. (During that time I continued to write my $3 articles.) Then a month later, I snagged a few more jobs on the same subject and then a couple more a few weeks after that. Each job I did, I made sure that I researched it thoroughly, and that it was my best work.
From the time I signed up to write on the new site, I had a really good feeling that something good was going to come from it. I'm not exactly sure what it was. After writing a few articles on the subject I knew very little about, I got a message from one of the editors. She asked me if I could take on more work, and of course, I said that I would. This was my first big break. (To be honest, I've only had a couple of 'big breaks' in my short freelance writing career... but it's awesome to say 'my first' because I am planning on having a ton more 'breaks' as I progress.) So, after letting her know that I would be thrilled to take on more assignments, I began getting a consistent stream of work on the subject I knew little about. However, as I kept writing, my knowledge on the topic began to grow. And whenever they asked if I could write more, I ALWAYS said yes.
Looking back at my life now, I can see that there was a number of jobs that I could have done exceptionally well at. However, I never had the drive or attitude to do whatever it took, or go above the extra mile. I simply just did what was required of me. With this new career, I am willing to say 'yes' to ANYTHING that comes my way... and that fact has helped me get off to a fast start.
As my client continued to send me more assignments, my writing became much more efficient. After two months writing for them and nearly three months after I decided to jump into a new career, I was earning about $1500 a month and have managed to stay at that level of income for about three months. Now, $1500 a month is nothing for a lot of writers and that's great for them, because I, too, want to be doing well for myself. But $1500 right now, when compared to where I was, might as well be a million dollars. When I began I didn't have any idea on how I was going to make money writing online. I didn't know where to start. I wasn't sure if I could produce quality work. And I had no idea what I was going to write about. All I had was faith and enthusiasm.
A couple of weeks ago I got a second 'break'. I had just turned in an assignment and I got an idea I wanted to bring up to the client I wrote for. So, I did. The next day my client messaged me asking me to email her. After I emailed her back, she told me that she needed one writer to write a database of articles for a new client of their company had gotten. And, although it wasn't what I proposed to her, it was a better opportunity than I currently had. The articles I wrote for the database would pay four times as much as I was currently making. Without hesitation, as you can imagine, I gladly accepted the new assignment.
The important thing to note here, is that I took a chance. This is the last point I want to make. You HAVE to take chances. Sure, the idea I pitched wasn't really even acknowledged, however, a better opportunity than I currently had was offered to me. And that was critical to furthering myself.

I'm absolutely positive that it any kind of challenge that you may face in your life, be it freelance writing, owning your own business, or entering into a food eating competition, those three components will always lead you to success. They are without a doubt the reasons that have gotten me from having no clue to finding some success in such a short period of time and if I continue to be successful, there is no doubt in my mind that they will be the reason.
