Stretch Your Creative Writing Talents

By Marjorie J McDonald

Being a outstanding writer means you can take only a few stories and turn them into extra stories simply by ever-changing the way you write about the theme matter. What you add or deduct from the content you have in front of you to give it a novel twist.

Alter a narration you have just written and see if you can add drama to the account you have or possibly you can make it into a comedy or a play that a local theater group might consider adding to their choices. Other ways to re-purpose what you have written might be to approach the story from a journalists viewpoint or a documentary approach. You can see that the same story could go in any of those directions and be interesting approaches.

It's all about the blend of the events that were encountered and how you as the writer put them together in your story line and time line of events. For example: If you have ever gone to an airport for a flight and found you took a long time to go all the way thru the security check point than you planned for and then had to run to get to the gate so you did not miss the last boarding call for the flight. You have 2 choices immediately: do you need to go the drama version or the comedy version. Either will stretch your creative writing talents.

You can try both and see which one you have got the most fun with and use that to help you continue to increase you skill in that type of writing. Or go with one of the other proposals or you can try each of the ideas for developing the theme. It is important as a writer to stretch yourself and have fun doing that with your ideas.

It's all in the decisions you take with the theme. This kind of writing stretches you to contemplate the proper way to put the info and events into your story in such a manner as to get the 2 different results. It is usually possible to use the twists to develop your writing resources so you can see things from one or two points of view.
