Are You Over thinking The Executive Resume Writing Process?

By Todd Badini

Executive resume writing does not need to be difficult as people believe it is. Oftentimes people will over think the process. I not I am guilty of doing this and I know other are as well. One thing I might do is include way to much information about my life in the hopes it will make me look good. One thing I usually do is put down way too much information concerning my life believing it will make me look better. Having too much information though usually ends up hurting the resume actually. That is I needed someone who would make sure I did not make such mistakes.

At resume.info/ they will help with executive resume writing by making sure you only include the information that is relevant. The only personal details that need to be included with executive resume writing would be a person's full name, contact information, email address, phone number, and personal address. Any other personal details will be kept to a minimum in order to make things look professional as possible.

When I talked to a resume writer from resume.info/ I wanted to know why putting down too much personal information on the executive resume was so frowned upon. I was told that including too much personal data may eventually lead to someone saying something that can be perceived as a bias. Certain information you place on a resume might go against a certain company you might be applying to. So they make certain to avoid doing this.

With executive resume writing it becomes simpler to put down details in regards to past work experience that might not be targeted to a specific job you are going for. Most of the information people who try to go about executive resume writing by themselves is centered around information that will not advance them in their career goals. At resume.info/ they make certain to omit information that is not useful such as hobbies and non targeted past jobs.

Getting professional help by means of a service can also help people decide if they should be including a head shot or not. I found out that putting a face picture on the resume with must careers is not seen as professional, although in some fields it is required. When it comes to high powered jobs however, including a head shot is going to be seen as being tacky and it is not going to be looked at favorably by the company.

Executive resume writing requires people to know when to include information about salary and not to. The topic is difficult to discuss to begin with, but when it comes to high powered jobs a person can shoot themselves in the foot. If a person puts down a salary on a resume that is too much they may be passed over, and if the put down a number that is too low they may be selling themselves short.

Executive resume writing requires diligence and attention to detail, but it does not mean it has to be over thought. I learned that letting someone else do the tricky stuff made things much simpler.
