The Future of PPC- Sales Video

When one stop to think for a moment it is actually staggering when considering the astonishing progress that has been made in online communication and especially online trade. Consumers are now assured that their transactions are secure and the sheer convenience of online shopping has won over many converts. One of the major advantages is the ability to compare different products with each other and to peruse independent reviews before making a decision. Recently, traders have found that a sales video can go a long way in helping to promote a business or a product.

Research has shown that the use of several types of media in a single message is one of the most effective ways to educate, inform and to entertain. This combination of several types of media in a single delivery vehicle can only be accomplished by means of video. Technology has improved to the point where users are no longer frustrated by long download times and jittery, hesitant images.

When contemplating the production of a video, it may be worthwhile to keep the characteristics of truly efficient videos in mind. Firstly, an effective video is not too long but perhaps more importantly is the need to design a video that is clearly focused upon the achievement of a very specific goal. Prior planning is of paramount importance and neglecting to do this can only result in a mediocre product, or even worse, a product that reflects badly upon the product or the service.

The importance of a holistic approach cannot be overemphasized. Well produced videos often grab the attention of consumers, but that initial advantage must be utilized by offering feedback and enquiry facilities, downloadable documents and access to further information. In most cases, the video acts as the bait that attracts the initial interest of the consumer. To reel in the catch, other skills are necessary.

One of the most fatal mistakes that can be made when creating a sales video is to assume that the individual who is able to technically produce the product is also an expert in designing a professional marketing message. This is, in fact, seldom the case. In order to create a truly effective product, the planning and initial design should be completed by a marketing expert, not a technical expert.

No single marketing tool is perfect, and video also has some limitations. Perhaps the most important of these is the fact that it is not easy for the user to manage the way in which he watches and listens to the message. It has to be seen from beginning to end and it is not really practical to review a segment of the video. The cost is also a factor that should receive some consideration.

The future of online business looks rosy and there is no reason to believe that it will slacken. Indeed, studies have shown that an increasing number of consumers prefer this convenient method of making purchases. Online entrepreneurs have to realize, however, that competition will most probably become even fiercer and that they will have to take steps to ensure that their unique product or service grab the attention of consumers. Using a sales video can go a long way towards catching attention.
