Copywriting 101 for The Beginner and Non-Writer

By Sherlyn Gearlds

There are so many different aspects of both online and offline business that have the potential for overwhelming anyone. Anyone with experience in learn copywriting will understand what we mean and maybe even have a chuckle about it. Once you get to a point where your business is in the black, then you will be in a position to hire contracted help - something that can have a dramatic affect on your business.

We are obviously all different, and some adapt more readily than others. Bear in mind that millions have gone before you, and you are capable of learning how to cope with new experiences. Most people are best by fears of one kind or another, and you simply must work to overcome them by just plowing right into them. It is like anything else you start learning, in time the errors will be less and you will be more confident. There is always room for improvement, learning and growth which is what all savvy marketers do.

There are many definitions of what makes for good site copy, but even the minimums are not hard to learn how to do for your self. Actually, everything is within your grasp and control if you have reliable information, have studied and practiced. However, there are a few points that you should always keep in mind when you're starting off with copywriting, especially as a non-writer.

Yes, it is not fun when you are learning, or it could be if you are motivated, but this is what you need to do. Also, anything you write for your site will have a purpose, and most of it will not be a direct sell, either. One way to get some practice in is to just write articles for your site, and then ask someone you trust to review them. It is interesting that writing is one of those things that keeps you honest - you cannot fake it.

Do not be alarmed when your greatest copy ever to be written, according to you, is stale - no good, does not perform and just outright stinks. This is why it's important that you go ahead and ask for feedback from your friends and other people.

In fact, it is those who skip over their homework who are at most risk and for obvious reasons. If you actually give what you buy a shot, then if you do not perform solid research is when you are pressing your luck. The thing about this is it is totally understandable for beginners to IM to have this kind of unfortunate luck. So with all that said, even with us we will recommend you always find out more and do due diligence. There are other situations in which due diligence is a great idea, and it is not always with buying something for your business.
