An article is something that appears so simple to the untrained eye, but requires such complex techniques to build and market properly. The methods used are varied and change drastically across the web, depending on the site or company. However, some of the same core principles are always used and reused when you want success and they will be discussed here.

Make sure that every article you provide is full of useful, interesting information. Remember that search engine bots may read for keywords, but people read for interest and entertainment or because they are trying to find something out! Your articles should have fresh, timely information about subjects people are interested in.

Speed up your article writing by choosing easy formats that fit your topic. Some topics are best suited for a How-to format, while others fit better with a list of tips. You could use a Q&A format or an interview-type method. Make it easy for your reader to grasp the information quickly.

Article marketing is a great way to spread information and get your message heard across the internet. Offering free, quality content means you are likely to be reposted on many sites. So, your ideas will be heard. This is great motivation from a writing standpoint but also a good marketing strategy.

Use short paragraphs for your articles. These articles should not be too lengthy. If you find that you are getting a bit wordy, break the article up into several smaller paragraphs. This will make it easier for your reader to read through it to the end. Use words that are familiar to most readers as well.

If you are using article marketing just to gain backlinks, you may still want to focus on creating high quality content. If your content is top-notch, then you can gain both the backlinks from your postings and traffic from the referrals from actual articles. It's the best of both worlds.

Use a free online keyword density tool in order to determine what the total keyword percentage is within each article. The search engines frown on keyword stuffing, and may ignore your article if too many keywords are used. If too few are used, your articles may meet the same fate.

If you have a lot of content or are looking to expand the article marketing you are already employing, try using an automated service for submitting your articles. Directories and other web content resources often have submission processes that take considerable time and energy. Investing in an automated service may save you a lot of time in the long run.

Be sure to check your spelling of every word in your article. If you publish an article with several spelling mistakes you are going to really do some damage to your reputation. You are not going to look as if you are an educated person who knows what they are talking about.

When submitting articles to the top directories, never use spun content -- always write new articles by hand. The top directories will not accept poor quality articles, and your articles will look bad by comparison to others on the site, which would defeat your whole purpose of building a reputation and drawing traffic.

This is a blueprint for the base of an excellent article marketing campaign and something that should be taken to heart if you wish to promote your site without spending huge sums on other forms of advertisement. It is crucial and hard work, but in the end worth every penny and second that is consumed.
