If you are continuing to talk about writing a book, it is time for you to stop talking and begin to do. I am going to give you an outline of how I work with my clients.
I have my customer commit to a date 4 weeks from today (yes, I actually have them pull out their calendar and decide on the date right then and there) and start to get their outline together for the content. Before anything else is done and before they leave the appointment this part is in effect. You, like my clients, already know precisely what you desire to jot down some thoughts about so the content outline step is simple.
What are my clients ' reactions? Yes, you guessed ... "YIKES! I need to get in gear and get things going! I am publishing my electronic book in 4 weeks!"
Amazingly, everything always gets done. The content is written, finished, the sales letter or offer page is completed if they're promoting their ebook online and they've got a list of other marketing sources lined up to help in promoting the e-book. Interestingly, everything is always easily finished before the release date. I call this being PULLED forward by your promoting, rather than being a victim of perfection paralysis or saying I'm going to get around to it later and continuing to procrastinate.
It is always easier to start with a finish date and work back to the starting time of a project. It permits you to plan for enough time to get everything accomplished. If you move on from the start toward the end, something will typically happen to keep you from staying on track. That very well might be the reason you have not been able to complete your book before now.
I have found utilising the system of moving from the end back toward the starting to be particularly useful in writing but I've used it for lots of other event co-ordination activities. It is a very successful and productive method.
Set your date, start with your creative writing and push toward forward your finishing line.
